Have you? I read a translation of Notes from Underground some years back, but many of the details have slipped my mind.

This is a very confusing message and she doesn't want to look stupid by asking for context, never mind that it's quickly obvious many other people don't get it either. Mops can't really read people over text and it's harder to engage.

For your statements, number one seems like a trap and number three would be kind of a cheap lie since there's way too many choices for a birthday, so I'm going with two as the lie.
