As a woman from 1185, do people really communicate with these little pictures where you're from? When you're from? I'm not sure which word is better.

I wouldn't say it's replaced actual words, but it's a pretty big part of our modern vernacular. I stopped trying to figure it out years ago, just go with it.

I think either works. When/where.

It's very different. But I've been doing my best to find the similarities. Is it all that different for you?

I'd have to say you're doing a decent job so far.

In some ways, sure. In others, not so much. I'd say some of the tech is a surprise — my planet doesn't have interplanetary ships, for instance — but communicating on devices like this is pretty normal.

We haven't got anything like this at home. But I suppose not everyone here can do magic, so I hope we aren't completely backwards.

There's no magic on my world, at least not that I know about. It wouldn't surprise me if people kept it quiet, though. There's always some sort of stigma against anything outside the norm.
