Good evening. I am Dr. Jonathan Reid, of London, England. I arrived here as I imagine many of you did, through those ghastly eggs.

Should you need a field surgeon or a physician's services, I offer both freely. You may find me in the infirmary or reach me through these devices. I regret that I have no resume or other prior reference to offer, only that I served in the War, and I'm accustomed to making do with very little.

It's good to hear that someone else has some field surgery experience and a doctorate that qualifies them to work on people.

Dr. Alexander Price. PHD, not MD. Veterinary sciences with a specialization in herpetology. I'm more qualified to examine the petrified animal we're living in than treating people, but my stitches are getting a lot neater from practice nonetheless.

[ A Doctor of Science? He didn't think that was going to catch on with the new ones, but who knows. Not going to argue with the title — if anyone here is unqualified to hold it, he's sure he'll find out very quickly. ]

Always a pleasure to meet a colleague. I would say there's hardly a difference, but I have to deal with patients trying to bite me much less frequently.

Are you working at the Aid Station or with a different division?

Considering how many of my usual charges are venomous, I've gotten really good at avoiding that.

I divide my time fairly evenly between the aid station, biology instruction in the makeshift school they've turned the theatre into and supply-gathering outside the camp.

There are some medically useful plants that grow in some areas here. Not everyone here has experience with hostile terrains. Luckily, I was going to marry an Australian before I ended up here and her family dislikes me enough to insist on taking me camping.

Sorry to say we kept screwing things up after it. I don't think there'll ever not be a war.

The one from 1914-1918.

I'm from 2007. Most people I've talked to here are ahead of me by a decade or so.

[ This is an exaggeration; Balthier is great at making friends but he can't help adding some ostentation. ]

[ Heh. He can't drink tea anymore, save to keep up appearances. Alas! But the rest holds true, as it is. ]

Indeed? It is a shame there isn't a tailor here.

[ He does not actually long for a new suit, it's simply the manner in which they may both be accustomed. ]

[ Balthier notes the lack of enthusiasm on tea. He has not had a good cup since he got here -- the ocean variety they served the thessyx was certainly palatable but it wasn't quite what he had in mind. ]

One of the Hatchlings may have the skill. Fabric seems to be the real limiting factor. Although there have been reports of those brave enough to explore the Adamant wreckage finding all sorts of luxuries.

[ Including tea. His former occupation -- pirate -- has him both itching to go and highly aware he will need at least a partner. He always keeps an eye out for possible new collaborators or crewmates. ]
