Good evening. I am Dr. Jonathan Reid, of London, England. I arrived here as I imagine many of you did, through those ghastly eggs.

Should you need a field surgeon or a physician's services, I offer both freely. You may find me in the infirmary or reach me through these devices. I regret that I have no resume or other prior reference to offer, only that I served in the War, and I'm accustomed to making do with very little.

That would be the one, 1914-1918.

I take it you are from a later time?

Not too far off
I fought in the one right after
World War 2, 1939

[ Right after...? Oh for Heaven's sake. Jonathan is thankful it's over text — he keeps his dismay and his disgust to himself. ]

That I'm sorry to hear, for ours was truly meant to be the last.

Who was involved, may I ask?

[ A world war, it seems nearly obvious. But ugh. It should have been the first and last, to think those horrors continue is an admission of a deep failure, one uneasily shouldered. ]

Frankly, probably easier to list who wasn't.
Germany, Italy, Japan
US, France, Britain, China

Germany started it. Apparently they weren't happy with how the first one went.

Would you be from around the 1940s, then?

Yes and no

1917-1945, then things were a little complicated for a while. It was 2023 before I woke up here.

[ Briefly, he wonders if he too, will live to that time, and beyond it. This new life is like a shroud — impossible to unwrap or move in, and yet so constant. He is alive and he isn't. It's all pending. ]

More than a little complicated, I imagine.

[ But who wants to pry; he will have to answer questions himself, and his nature may come up. ]

If there are advances in medical technique that you're aware of, I would greatly appreciate that information.

I'm not the guy for that. You're gonna wanna talk to @s.wilson. He was pararescue sometime in the 2000s, he'll know way more than I do.

It's basically all done through gadgets like these. It's unbelievable.

You get used to it. You're not the only one. Friend of mine made the jump, too, except he didn't get periodic updates exactly like I did. Didn't take him long.
