Good evening. I am Dr. Jonathan Reid, of London, England. I arrived here as I imagine many of you did, through those ghastly eggs.
Should you need a field surgeon or a physician's services, I offer both freely. You may find me in the infirmary or reach me through these devices. I regret that I have no resume or other prior reference to offer, only that I served in the War, and I'm accustomed to making do with very little.
Thank you for your time.

[ This is an exaggeration; Balthier is great at making friends but he can't help adding some ostentation. ]

Indeed? It is a shame there isn't a tailor here.
[ He does not actually long for a new suit, it's simply the manner in which they may both be accustomed. ]

One of the Hatchlings may have the skill. Fabric seems to be the real limiting factor. Although there have been reports of those brave enough to explore the Adamant wreckage finding all sorts of luxuries.
[ Including tea. His former occupation -- pirate -- has him both itching to go and highly aware he will need at least a partner. He always keeps an eye out for possible new collaborators or crewmates. ]

[ if that's a subtle way to get him to admit he's curious, well, a) it's effective, and b) he is curious. ]
How long has it been since you arrived?

I am an old man, here since the beginning of the Hatchlings, or Children of the Leviathan as we're now called. I'm shocked you haven't heard the stories of my great deeds.
[ Balthier was chosen by Childe to go into a diplomatic meeting with the visiting thessyx. His fellow Hatchling and diplomatic accompaniment, Varric, exaggerated his deeds very publicly. Something about arm-wrestling aliens and having the sultry voice of a thunderstorm. Balthier has 100% leaned into this and is amused when he hears the story being retold around camp. ]
In all honesty the first few weeks were rough. If I can be of any assistance, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you.
I do hope there's a play here about those great deeds, I should like to hear a few. Children of the Leviathan indeed! A title that feels as if we were chosen, and not brought by accident.
[ A little embellishment, a little theatre, who wouldn't jump at that opportunity? ]

[ Chosen or happenstance has been the disgruntled talk of the Hatchlings since the Thessyx arrived. Balthier has been having nightmares about the Ocurria -- the god-like beings on his own world who drove his father mad and nearly destroyed three countries through their chosen ones. He already thrust himself into the center of diplomacy with the Thessyx, the Hatchlings, and the locals, but he's taking it easy on that subject where he can. ]

[ It's something he's said -- and believed -- for years. But lately he's questioning if leading man is the same as protagonist. And doesn't the leading man usually end up with a partner? He's 0/2. ]

smh I thought this posted already
Is there a piano in the theatre?
Haha no worries. I have not been around much this week
I do recall a piano. Do you play?
[[ OOC: I'm like 90% sure there's a piano we're gonna go with it. ]]

[ ooc: there isn't one (yet!) so we can just say they went looking after this and decided to help the camp make one :> ]

Your memory is better than mine. I had ample musical training in my youth but I think I'd need to be quite inebriated to perform for anyone willingly.
