Hey so
I've been screwing around with the network connecting the communications devices a little. I know there's no Spotify here, no internet, not a lot of music, which sucks. My MP3 player came here with me, so I figured maybe some people might like to have at least a few options. It might not necessarily be to everyone's taste, but it's better than nothing (probably).
I've uploaded the contents to the database, you should be able to access it or send/receive songs at any time.
Turns out they already had some music on there too, so you can poke around theirs and see if you find something you like more. I haven't gotten to go through it all, but at least some of it looks like 21st century Earth stuff.
Sidenote: you're welcome to criticize the contents of my MP3 player, just know that I've never felt shame in my life & I can and will sing all of these karaoke style to your face. IDK if you really want to live through that experience.
( feel free to threadjack as you like )

He can't see it, but she huffs at her device.]
Don't remind me.
However, it's not more or less unhygienic than everything else about this place, so I'm doing my best not to care. Again, not the issue.
[At least it's better than the dirt! You weirdo!!!]

It's kind of you to think of me, Trish. It's not wrong, either. But having music to listen to simply isn't a priority for me right now. There are a lot of things I need to consider. I want you to take care of yourself and your happiness first.
im sorry Bruno,
He seemed to acquiesce but no, it's still bugging him!!]
What, like it's hard? Am I so delicate I can't spend an hour or two of my day looking through archives and thinking "hm, maybe Bucciarati would like this. Maybe he would find it useful."?
Though I suppose you already told me in your own way that I shouldn't bother, didn't you?
[But then, they're not friends, so should she be surprised...maybe he finds it weird to interact with her on that level. She didn't think about that. With that in mind she quickly types:]
Ugh, forget it.
trish...................
Bruno stares at this message for a few seconds, then immediately sighs and rubs his temples. He shouldn't have said anything - but he didn't think she would care so much. Now he's left to dissect why. (The answer is obvious, but not so much to someone like him, who's still trying to find the correct balance of professional and personal in his relationship to her.)
Anyway, Trish's phone is ringing now, so at least Ian and the public will be spared more of this family drama. ]
that icon is sending me, thank you [priv]
Her mom was basically her best friend, so Trish is sort of used to bonding with older people. Bruno isn't even that much older than her, even! It shouldn't be this hard, but if he doesn't want to talk to her except on business matters, so to speak, then...
She watches her device ring, and ring, and just when she thinks Bruno might give up (would he?), Trish finally picks up. She's gonna jump to speaking first though, before he can get a word in.]
You already made yourself clear. What do you want now?
[bruno pain]
No, it's clear from your attitude that I haven't.
[ spoken as strictly as ever. The sass is not particularly appreciated, especially in public... please. ]
I want to know if you're this worked up over doing me a favor because you still feel like you owe me. If you are, cut it out. We already discussed this. [ a pause. Then, with all his usual bluntness: ] ... If you're just trying to make a friendly gesture, that's another matter.
[ which is also vaguely complicated - he obliquely referred to his circumstances earlier - but not nearly enough to make him turn her down. He's too nice to cut her off. (This is how he ended up with Narancia on his team...) ]
Trish like damn friending Bruno on Neopets is a monumental effort
Trish sighs, pinches her nose like she's the one doing the scolding, and maybe she is. No one in this house is valid.]
I'm annoyed because you seem determined to misunderstand me at every turn.
[And now she's embarrassed because he's equating sharing over the network to doing favors for him? If she somehow thought sending him jazz remotely made up for him dying on her behalf, then she would be the most pathetic girl on more than one planet.
But she doesn't, and this is dumb, and she's mad about it.]
If you don't want me to do these things, say it plainly. Don't patronize me and act like the mere act of sending you music or information is a gargantuan task that would consume my far too plentiful free time.
[God.]
Because they are "friendly gestures", and nothing more.

That said. If it's any relief, he also thinks this is stupid... not that he's going to say as much. Teenagers... ]
You're putting words in my mouth, Trish.
[ a sigh. she's reading a lot of implications in his words that aren't there, because he honestly has been speaking plainly. He's straightforward, if nothing else!! But he's used to this kind of attitude from Fugo, at least, so he has some patience. ]
But if that's really all you wanted, then I'm more than happy to accept. [ ... ] ... You just caught me off-guard. Thank you.

That's what Trish will believe until she's developed a little more nuanced and favorable familiarity towards Bruno's idiosyncrasies.
Eventually...
For now, she is immensely grumpy at him and he cannot change this.]
I am not!
[Oh boy.]
I can't imagine being surprised at something so small. Next time, I'll be sure to warn you in advance when I deign to do something as small as to hold a door open for you.
[Fucking shit. She hangs up on him here, also.
Bruno is probably used to teenagers doing this, too. The verbal equivalent of slamming a door shut behind them when they go to their room.]

he'll just pocket his phone and wait for her to calm down later. No need to go poking the proverbial bear. Ultimately, this is a good thing, he thinks - even if he's not sure why it had to discovered through an argument, he's glad to have a better read on Trish's feelings. He has a tendency to complicate things. Their relationship is that of a mobster and the civilian he essentially kidnapped, even if it was for protection reasons, and it's not easy for him to forget that. He very keenly feels the impact he's had on her life. But maybe she doesn't see it that way - and, ultimately, it's her opinion that matters, not his concerns.
If he were to speak personally, he might say he's happy she wants to be friends. Even through his exasperated sigh, he can't help but smile a little. ]
