Hey so

I've been screwing around with the network connecting the communications devices a little. I know there's no Spotify here, no internet, not a lot of music, which sucks. My MP3 player came here with me, so I figured maybe some people might like to have at least a few options. It might not necessarily be to everyone's taste, but it's better than nothing (probably).

I've uploaded the contents to the database, you should be able to access it or send/receive songs at any time.

Turns out they already had some music on there too, so you can poke around theirs and see if you find something you like more. I haven't gotten to go through it all, but at least some of it looks like 21st century Earth stuff.

Sidenote: you're welcome to criticize the contents of my MP3 player, just know that I've never felt shame in my life & I can and will sing all of these karaoke style to your face. IDK if you really want to live through that experience.

It seems a lot of this is from your era. Were you feeling homesick? Or just in a sharing mood?

Not exactly, I just have this MP3 player that I've kept for like 10 years. It followed me here, I figured there was a music deficit, so I uploaded what I had.

That's lucky. I didn't really come with anything else useful or fun. Having to come up with new hobbies has been ... interesting.

For context, back in my world, I'm very busy and rarely take leave. I also work in a space ship, and I'm familiar with zero gravity.

Here, I suddenly realize I need more practice for anything fancy involving rock climbing. I'm also a bit artistically challenged. That one, however, I don't plan on doing anything about.

( 10 minutes later, Sam gets a video that is remarkably similar to this, except instead of airline workers and people waiting to board, it's the sanitation crew clearly stoned and providing backup vocals that prove they've only known the song for about a day and a half. )

I did a kazoo-acoustic cover of wonder wall to impress a girl I knew for a full ten minutes. I don't think it gets much lower than that, man.

What kind of work did you do on your ship? Maybe something that can translate over to the engineering avenue?

I'm not sure any of us can actually take credit for being beamed up.

We figured out how it happened back in the last place I was, but I don't think it has anything to do with how we got HERE.

At this point it feels a little like I'm playing cosmic pinball, and I'm the ball.
