I was unable to hook my drone Redwing up to the ship to get a grab of the map on the adamant's systems, but I was able to have the sweet lil' thing develop a schematic from the entrypoint to the medical wing, along the route barnes and I took.

happy to share that with the class, to make anyone's supply trips to medical easier, but it got me thinking: if we pool a couple resources, old fashioned and technologically advanced, maybe we can compile a map together, bit by bit, exploration for exploration. should make future excursions into the adamant easier, and we could keep it up to date with structural damages, repairs, notes on what we find...

I'd been thinking of a similar project. I used to work as a cartographer in the First Army.
I sketched some maps when we went to the rat warrens, but I haven't been to the Adamant yet.
I want to try heading for the coast, next. Along the pipeline the Adamant's crew already put down, maybe.

It was remarkable.

I didn't get very far, alas, but from what I can recall it was in surprisingly good shape for something left to the mercy of the elements.

Now, as to the map you want to find.
Would the survivors not have retrieved that when they fled?

Yes, of medicine. Admittedly, I am from 1919, and understand there have been significant advances in the field, both on Earth and here, and have been spending my time keeping up.

I will manage perfectly well in the outdoors.

Yeah, BD and Vidar and I have done a little exploring there. It wasn't really anything as exciting as a medical wing, though.

BD's scanner renders a holomap of every place he's been to, so I can share the area we've already got mapped out, and update you with more when we go back.

that's awesome. we should sit down and see if we can't combine the schematics redwing scanned with BD's holomap. I mean, worst case we clobber together something patchwork. I got someone who's done some mapping on paper that we gotta digitize some way or another, too

I feel the true problem of the adamant would be lighting.
Traversing difficult terrain is a simple enough task, but more of a challenge without a source of light.

I think we got some people with helpful tech, but that ain't gonna be for everyone. could probably have a chat with the adamant survivors, see if they can't spare some stuff for our excursions. considering our efforts are to make supply runs easier for everyone, they might be willing to provide gear accordingly

What gave Redwing problems with the computer? The connection port, or are we talking a software/firewall issue?

I could maybe take a look at it.

issues are more on the software side. essentially, redwing would have to hack into the systems, and my boy's not really made for that - this tech is just different enough from shit back home that it's not as easy as interfacing, y'know?

could probably talk to the adamant techs but... not sure I'm happy with the idea of letting others get their hands on redwing's systems.
