It seems like they're pretty set on calling us 'Hatchlings', so... hello, fellow Hatchlings, I'd like to play a game.

Two truths and a lie. I'll start.

  ① Starbucks makes the best lattes.
  ② I've never watched All Dogs Go To Heaven all the way through.
  ③ My birthdate is May 21st. What year? Every year. 😉😉😉 But my party in 2018 was 🔥🔥🔥.

You said all that and you didn't include a pic of your wolfdog? I know you said you wouldn't lie, but if I had to peg one of those statements... I'm just saying.

I don’t know Starbucks. My friend might have mentioned it once. Don’t know All Dogs Go To Heaven.

[And he has bad news about the afterlife, any sort, but he is not inclined to share it.]

But if something is the best, that’s an opinion. You’d be lying about your opinion. I don’t know why you’d lie about your nameday. I think it must be that you’ve watched the dog story all the way through.

I will send a picture of Ghost, but I thought everyone had seen him. Big as a pony, he is.

Starbucks is a place that makes non-alcoholic drinks. The dog story is real sad, but it's a good movie if you're into that sort of thing. I think they have it in the archives here.

That is a very big wolf, you're right. Gorgeous, though. Is he friendly or do I have to hide the children?

I don’t see the point of sad stories about dogs. Do they have Robin Hood?

Ghost is no threat to children unless they taunt him. He is friendly to friends. Not so much so to enemies. He has seen battle, and he can survive in the wilds.

He is no wolf-dog. There had been no direwolves south of the Wall in centuries when we found his litter. But the direwolf is the sigil of my father’s house, and there were as many pups as he had children. It seemed right for us to raise them. Ghost is the last of them now.
