Crap! He scrubs the cuff of his shirt against it and then coughs to cover the embarrassment, before diving into his totally-not-rehearsed-like-sixty-times speech.]

Hello. Hi. I-is this thing on? Joking, I'm kidding, I know it's on. Annnnd that's the punchline ruined, great, I'm amazing at this.

D-disastrous introductions aside, I'm Ashley. You may remember me from such greatest hits as 'that guy who tripped into the Chrysalis and brought us all here somehow' and, uh, 'that nervous dude who handed me a towel in the shower once' and you would be right, uh, that is, correct on both counts. I'm really sorry, by the way. For the... you know, the... thing. The first thing. Not the towels. Towels are great. I love towels.

Captain Childe asked me like a month ago to do some work with, uh, getting everyone in and settled and doing what we can to make you guys comfortable as much as we can actually help with. We know that you guys don't want to be here any more than we do. Ethyraia! Not exactly a fun time at Grandma's, right? Right.

Anyway, if you have any questions, or... you know, anything, or you just want to chat, come say hi. Introduce yourself? I know I'm kind of setting myself up to be the basecamp whipping boy over here but please don't yell at me I don't do well with that kind of attention.

Or you could just... I don't know, tell me something about yourself? We're still figuring each other out, right? Iiiiiiiiiii am a Scorpio, and I'm afraid of cats. N-not big cats. Lions are fine? I mean... like, normal housecats. So there you go, that's the fun fact of the week.

You've been very helpful otherwise with supplies, so I suppose that lessens the crime. [ this is said rather teasingly, all things considered. ]

Hahaha.... y-yeah, it's... tenuous?

[He just hopes it isn't him next time. No thank you, he's had enough! Also, nervous as he is, he still understands teasing.]

I mean, I, um, I'm not the one in charge of w-what supplies get shared so that's not really... I mean, it's not anything I'd say makes up for it.

Still, having a familiar face is a nice way of endearing us with the rest of the crew. Even if you're not in charge. I see you all the time trying to help.

[ he probably doesn't have a choice in it, but some of the people do find him interesting, even if they exasperate him in turn. he's definitely more approachable than remi or the captain, which is as expected.

['Trying' there is possibly the key word... he means well, but he's not very good at, well. Much.]

As for w-what I like... [He'd say 'nothing', if he wasn't trying to be perky and upbeat.] I... g-guess the view over the ocean is nice?

It's hard not to. [ mostly because he .... makes a scene, unintentionally or not, with just being himself.

though the ocean is an interesting response. his trips to the adamant are probably as far as he's gone in terms of ... traveling, but there's nothing really of interest here to him in general and he's not an explorer type. he's got a skepticism against the other creatures living in the wild planet. ]

Really? I haven't gone that far out.

But I suppose you don't go swimming in there. [ because who knows what's in the oceans here? then again, he might be a thrillseeker. ]

[That sounds a little backhanded... but he's not going to call him out on it. Instead, he wilts like a sad puppy.]

A-ah, y-you really should. It's beautiful. But I don't swim, no. A-at least not there. The water is, um, it's... we l-lost some people at sea early on w-when we were first here and we h-haven't really gone back that close.

That's unfortunate. Was it just the environment? Or something else in the sea itself?
